Utah Certified Food Managers<\/strong> Food Manager Training Course<\/strong> Audience:<\/strong> Experienced professionals in the food service industry, such as owner, manager, person-in-charge (PIC), chef, cook, or any employee.<\/p>\r\n Course Outline<\/strong><\/p>\r\n ANSI Certification Exam\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n To be certified as a food manager, the individual must pass an accredited food safety examination - administered by a certification provider.<\/p>\r\n The Learn2Serve Food Protection Manager Certification is approved by the American National Standards Institute and the Conference for Food Protection (ANSI-CFP). With the exception of Connecticut, this accredited exam is accepted in all states\/jurisdictions that have mandatory certification requirements for Food Management Professionals. Help with Exam<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n We have partnered with PSI - a global testing, certification,\u00a0 and licensing provider. The exam is proctored at a PSI test center location.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n After purchasing the exam, you should receive an email from PSI instructing you how to schedule your exam. If you do not receive this email, please contact support at 877.881.2235. Upon successful completion of the exam with a passing score, you may download and print a proof of completion document. Utah requires each retail food establishment to have a person-in-charge, owner, or manager who is a Certified Food Manager (CFM) that has successfully passed an examination from an accredited certification provider.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
The Food Safety Manager Principles Course provides a foundational knowledge of the FDA Food Code and covers foodborne hazards and pathogens, cross contamination, proper preparation and temperature controls, proper hygiene, proper cleaning and sanitation methods, regulations, and the proper techniques to maintain a food-safe environment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\nSalt Lake County Health Department requires\u00a0all individuals\u00a0preparing, serving, or handling food in or around a food service establishment or mobile food unit (whether the individuals are compensated or not) to receive adequate food service training, either as a certified food handler or as a certified food safety manager.<\/li>\n
\nAt least one full-time certified food safety manager must be employed at every food service establishment and mobile food unit in Salt Lake County. When replacing a departing certified food safety manager, the establishment has sixty (60) days to employ a new certified food safety manager. Certification is valid for three (3) years from the date of issue, unless revoked or suspended by the Salt Lake County Health Department.<\/li>\n
\n<\/strong>All mobile food service units (such as carts, trucks, and trailers), as well as shaved-ice stands, operating in Salt Lake County must meet health department regulations and have a current, active mobile food service permit.<\/li>\n
\nAny temporary food service offered to the public, whether offered for a price or free of charge<\/em>, requires a permit from the health department.
